The Twin Kalimba is 30 cm long and features two sets of identically tuned tines on opposite sides. This allows it to be played solo or by two people.

The primary reason for developing the Twin Kalimba was the desire to create an instrument that allows for playing together. Whether for couples, friends, or therapists and patients, a shared musical experience is possible. The identically tuned sets of tines always produce harmonious sequences and sounds. The vibrations of the tones are transmitted to the wood and are not only audible but also physically perceptible to the playing partner.

Playing alone
Hold the Twin Kalimba horizontally in both hands, with each thumb playing one set of tines. The identically tuned tines create a rich, resonant sound, as each tine played resonates with its corresponding note on the opposite side. Advanced kalimba players can create a wide variety of scales by retuning individual notes.
